Coming Soon - BODYBALANCE 41
BODYBALANCE® 41 is an innovative release. The Tai Chi Warmup is expressive and dramatic in both the movements and the music. This carries you into the very different Sun Salutations Track combining an uplifiting Celtic sound, courtesy of Irish folk singer Moya Brennan and an energetically structured Sun Salutation sequence. Reaching new depths early in the class allows you to surrender into the powerfully emotive Tracks 3, 4 and 5. You'll reach new levels of strength and awareness in the Core Tracks which include the fun new move — The Pilates 100's. Then settle into a state of peace for the Twists and Forward Bends. The music in this release is truly inspirational. There is a soulful start with Sarah McLachlan's Silence, you move through a series of expressive poses to Annie Lennox's deep, heartfelt Dark Road, sing along to Alicia Keys' popular hit No One and let Moby's 18 wash over you as you flow smoothly from one pose to another. The class finishes with Presence from Ty Burhoe's incredible CD 'Invocation'.

Coming Soon - BODYVIVE 7
Set sail on the Love Boat with BODYVIVE™ 7! You're going to love the nautical theme that runs through most of the tracks — in the song title, the singer's name or what you might do if you were sailing on the sea! This release is full of musical memories and new moves to keep improving heart fitness, functional strength and a strong and stable core. Look forward to innovations — the Side Step & Rise in Track 2 and the Dynamic Lunge with Knee Lift in Track 4. This is great for strengthening the quadriceps and gluteal muscles as well as improving balance. The Side Lunge Shoulder Press and Standing Tricep Extension in the Functional Strength track really work the muscles of the shoulder, resulting in a strong, stable joint and whole integrated body strength. You're going to love the music! Jump with the Pointer Sisters, rock out to Smoke On The Water and groove to the smooth, sweet sounds of the All Saints' Pure Shores. Another musical highlight is Waterloo — selected due to popular request. You'll finish BODYVIVE™ 7 feeling restored, revived and buzzy!

Pryme Time - The Wellness and image workshop for women over 50
Manningham YMCA would like to invite you to an innovative event called PRYME Time - The Wellness & Image Workshop on Saturday 1st March, 2008 from 9.30am until 4.00pm. The event is designed to provide existing & new patrons with an inspirational, informative & fun day. Pryme Time will bring together a cross-section of speakers from the, health, wellness, community and fitness industries, to help guide & empower you with life development and image solutions. The workshop will include presentations, break-out groups, lunch and a mini-Expo of wellness & image focused local traders, door prizes and a "Special Effort" to raise funds for Pryme Movers. There will be an opportunity to experience the Pryme Movers Active Movers class as well as break out into smaller groups to look at a choice of either Butchering, Tour Guides in Melbourne or Relaxation & Meditation.

BODYVIVE™ 5 Released
'High Vives' for BODYVIVE™ 5! This release is about fitness, fun and being free to be. Musically it's a blast and it features creative new moves that members will love. There are two great new moves in this release: the Lying Bicep Curl and the Assisted Hover. The Lying Bicep Curl features in the first Strength Track and maximizes the benefits of a Curl while minimizing bad form. You'll have to wait until Track 10 for the Assisted Hover, which trains the deep abdominal muscles. Think of the Back Care Track as being similar to a trip to the zoo with the Down Dog, Cat Stretch, Bear Pose and Horse Stance Pointer! The class will reap the benefits of improved heart fitness, great functional strength and a stronger core. Get ready for some fun in BODYVIVE™ 5 on Tuesday and Thursday at 12.30pm.

Enjoy a complimentary Pilates or yoga class
Over the past 3 years the Manningham YMCA has been offering a range of day time group exercise classes at the community wellness centre, specifically designed to help participants achieve the calm, balance and energy that only uniting mind and body can bring. With a range of supporting complementary wellness therapies including massage, and myotherapy, now available, participants are regaining the vitality and life balance that a busy lifestyle can take away. To celebrate the range of new and exciting classes we have starting on the timetable next week, new visitors to the centre can download a complimentary pass and experience the benefits for themselves.

BODYBALANCE is here
The popular Les Mills BODYBALANCE class has come to the wellness centre. BODYBALANCE is the yoga, tai chi, Pilate's workout that builds flexibility and strength, and leaves participants feeling centered and calm. Controlled breathing, concentration and a carefully structured series of stretches, moves and poses to music, create a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance. Regular participation is designed to improve joint flexibility and range of movement, increase core strength, reduce stress levels and provide a lasting sense of wellbeing.

If your looking to get into fitness classes for the first time you'll love BODYVIVE
BODYVIVE is the low-impact group fitness workout that lets you choose just how hard you work. It's a great entry level program for anyone seeking the motivation and benefits of group exercise that delivers results. Its especially suited to active adults in their 40's, 50's, and 60's, beginners and those returning to exercise after a long break. Using the VIVE balls, tubes and optional hand weights, you're talked step-by-step through the entire class by a skilled instructor, all the while listening to uplifting and inspiring music. Best of all, you finish feeling thoroughly rejuvenated and fizzing with energy.
